Wheel of Fortune

Spent quite a few hours on this piece, the Wheel of Fortune. The fifth in my tarot card series, I’m wondering if maybe I should do the entire Major Arcana. Not sure, some of the images in the deck are not very inspirational. I’m afraid I will lose interest half way through this series. … No matter. I’ve enjoyed doing the 5 cards I’ve done so far.

I See a Tall Dark Man in Your Future

Actually, no, I don’t see anything. I believe most everything depends on random probability. That being said, there is a lot of stuff we can’t explain. There is mostly some science behind what we can’t explain, we just don’t understand it yet or have not discovered the root cause of the occurance.

Despite my disbelief in the supernatural, I’ve been painting tarot cards during La Cuarentina. Why? Tarot cards look cool as shit. I’ve always liked the little stories behind what each card is supposed to ‘see’ or fortell, and they have some very thoughtful imagery. A complete deck of tarot has 78 cards. It took me about 6 weeks to paint 4 tarot cards. Besides the Major Arcana, most of the cards are not so inspiring…like, what am I supposed to do with the 5 of pentacles? Anyway, I did 4, The Hanged Man, The Ace of Swords, La Lune, and I am still working on The Tower of Destruction. The Tower is one of the worst cards that can come up in a reading. You can see why.

??? Back to Urban Blight

One has to wonder why this artwork was removed…actually one was removed, the other was painted over. Around the corner, NY artist Dee Dee, also lost a cool piece she(?) had put up a few months ago. What’s the rational here?

A spontaneous poster I made around 2009. It’s the merging of two ideas, the tarot card of La Luna and one of my favorite songs by X, Under the Big Black Sun.
